Porto Close To Costa Deal

Maisfutebol reports that FC Porto are very close to signing midfielder Tomás Costa from Rosario Central...

News sources in Portugal claim that FC Porto have been interested in capturing Costa since January, but that Los Canallas refused to let him go at that time.

It is believed that the two clubs have now concurred on a deal in the region of €4 million and that the 23-year-old is currently in Buenos Aires to undergo the usual exams with Porto's medical staff.

Costa is expected to put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal with the Portuguese champions but should only arrive at Estádio do Dragão after the Torneo Clausura.

Rosario Central chairman, Manuel Usandizaga, confirmed the deal and explained that Costa resembles Lucho González on the field.

"FC Porto will sign a great player and a good boy," Usandizaga told Maisfutebol. "He will learn a lot in Europe. He is not Lucho yet, because he does not have his experience, but he is a great bet for the future."

"Lucho is already a national squad player, Tomás can still get there."
