Benfica Eye Sánchez Flores Move

Quique Sánchez Flores has been targeted by Benfica bosses to become their new coach after Sven-Gorän Eriksson turned the chance to return to the Portuguese outfit.

After being sacked by Valencia last October, the 43-year-old has been out of work, but could not be set to return at the highest level with confirmed interest from As Águias.

The club's new technical secretary, Rui Costa, is a fan of the Spaniard's style and believes that he could turn Benfica around after another season of underachievement.

Eriksson had been approached after José Antonio Camacho's exit had left the coach's position vacant and hopes were high that after being told that he was unwanted at Manchester City, that he may be tempted to try a third stint in charge.

Now that the Swede has said that he is not interested, Flores' name has come to the fore and he could be tempted by the offer, although there are still jobs in Spain that could come up in the summer to tempt him.
