SOURCE: Carlos Queiroz enjoyed Uefa Cup action at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on Thursday, but played down talk that United are ready to bid on a pair of youngsters from visitors Sporting Lisbon. Rumors have been rife this week that Manchester United assistant Carlos Queiroz was at the Reebok Stadium to scout two Sporting Lisbon starlets in the Uefa Cup last 16. The Red Devils no.2 played a major role in the unearthing and signing of current United due Anderson and Nani, but the Portuguese was cool on any transfer link to the Lisbon pair. Queiroz saw Portugal international midfielder Miguel Veloso (pictured), 21, and 20-year-old Bruno Pereirinha in action against the Trotters, but the former Real Madrid boss insists that he wasn’t specifically keeping tabs on anyone. "Have I come to watch a Sporting player? No I came to watch the game and speak to some agents. If I see some skill, I'll make a note of it." United will have their summer targets in mind, but he presence of the United assistant certainly caused quite a stir as did Lisbon, who snatched a crucial away goal in the first leg draw.
