Benfica offer Chelsea manager Avram Grant escape route

Avram Grant has reportedly been offered an escape route to Portuguese club Benfica if he is axed at the end of the season by Chelsea.

The manager's authority has come under scrutiny after failing to punish defender Tal Ben Haim for his criticism of the Israeli in an interview with The Sun newspaper last week.

Ben Haim was thought to have been fined £80,000 for his comments but that has yet to be confirmed by the club.
