PES 2010

Postby Ronaldesma » March 10th, 2010, 4:19 am

Bought this game a few days ago and its a breath of fresh air coming from playing fifa. One of the reasons I like this game better is that you score different type of goals with different players. I always seemed to score only with strikers in fifa and the goals felt repetitive. And even on the hardest level fifa was too easy most of the time. It was only enjoyable playing online on fifa. And the fact that you can add Liedson to the national team and call up any other portuguese player in the game is cool. free kicks are better and feel like you have more control than fifa. The only thing I can say bad about PES is that the anouncers are a bit annoying and they don;t have all the portuguese teams.... Master league is way better than manager mode. There is even europa and champions league to play during the season. Some of my players got called up for international duty which I thought was pretty neat.

I'm not a fanboy or anything I just think this game is more challenging and more rewarding when you score. They have the canadian national team too LOL

If anybody has PES for PS3 hit me up. My online ID is VIVA_PORTUGAL :wavetowel:

You'll be back playing FIFA by weeks end.
With all due respect to your opinion of the game, my first run out with PES resulted in a 11-0 finish on it's default setting. Even the die-hard PES fans have conceded & admitted that FIFA is miles ahead. The guys from WENB have even written an article stating that initially they wrote skewed articles hyping the new game but ultimately the installments of PES are just not that good. People have stuck by them for years & they continue to shelve out a mediocre, old & lazy product.
I don't know what different types of goals from different players you're talking about because I don't get that at all & get more variety from FIFA on a daily basis. Maybe if this was 5 years ago. I've given up on PES. They used to be the standard in football gaming. FIFA has not only nailed what they have been able to do but they have exceeded & done what PES should have been doing for the last 5 years. It's not even close to me anymore, FIFA is without a doubt the best game of footy on the market.

Of course playing on the default difficulty setting is easy when your used to playing futebol games. Play on "top player" in Pro evo and then come back and tell me that you can win 11-0. I'm not saying Pro evo is better for everybody, but for me its the more rewarding game. I have bought Fifa the last 4-5 years and 09 was definetly a step up from 08 but fifa 10 feels too much the same and I found it too easy in single player modes.

That's strange to me because I'm an avid footy game player & FIFA 10 feels completely different from 09. The 360 dribbling controls alone make it a whole new experience. I can go on & on about FIFA 10's improvements but I'll spare you of that. But surely if you go back & play FIFA 09 then pop in FIFA 10 you'll be able to feel a big difference. Even the new World Cup game will have great new small improvements to the gameplay. People dog EA for "cashing in" on 2 games per year but unlike the PES team they don't sit on what they have. They continue to improve & actually listen to the fans. Cannot wait for the WC game.

I can respect that you like PES better. Everybody has their own cup of tea. I'm just letting my opinion be known that's all. To me, it's not even close. And personally it's actually a shame that PES has the UEFA CL & EL licenses. Never understood the cult following of PES considering it's provided a lazy product for so long.

I reckon it is. Start of in the reserves then when you make the team your on the bench and can get subbed off and stuff. Much more realistic.

NEW DLC FOR PES 2010 COMING IN JUNE!

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced it will release a new DLC pack for PES 2010 on June 8th.

The free download will be available for PlayStation(R)3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD, and will update the kits of 18 national sides. The download will offer users the new strips for teams from Japan, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Argentina, Brazil, Ireland, Italy, England, Greece, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia and Korea. It will also update the squads for these teams.

Users will be prompted to download the free DLC on loading the game from June 8th onwards.

If there's one thing about PES that's cool is they're always updating the little things! Can't wait for this!

I got it on loan from my library and honestly it's painful to play imo. The controls bother the hell out of me and it feels too much like an arcade, funny because that was one of the criticisms FIFA used to get. Not to mention the lack of licenses. Very disapointing.

The online play has always been a problem in recent memory for PES. PES does some things very well, but they have to step up their game (no pun) in other areas.
It's actually amazing that FIFA was rightfully criticized for being too arcade-like. And now the complete opposite has happened. After playing FIFA of today, it's PES that feels arcade-like. And that's because of the lack of progression & attention to gameplay the game has failed to manage over the last 4-5 years.
I still pop it in every now & then though. So I'll definitely be looking forward to the new DLC.

I just couldn't get into the title. So many things about this game bothered me, everything felt awkward even menu screens which were confusing.
